Aeffe Group goes fur-free

Coinciding with the debut of Milan Fashion Week, the Aeffe Group, which controls the brands Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini and Pollini, declares its commitment to abandoning the use of fur in the collections of its brands starting from the season Spring/Summer 2024.

The Aeffe Group, which actively collaborates with LAV, an association part of the Fur Free Alliance, today announces its adherence to the international Fur Free Retailer standard.

Through the conclusion of this agreement, the Italian company undertakes to permanently stop purchasing fur. The stock will continue to be sold until exhausted.

Massimo Ferretti, President of Aeffe Group, said:

“For years our company has reduced to a minimum if not practically eliminated the purchase and use of fur, but we considered it absolutely appropriate to formalize this commitment, which affects all our brands. The enhancement of biodiversity and animal welfare are strategic priorities of our Sustainability Plan which is based on three fundamental key principles: protection of the planet and the environment; monitoring and development of a sustainable and responsible production chain; attention to individuals and communities. We are setting ourselves ambitious objectives, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, which I firmly believe will lead the company towards a new phase of growth and development”.

Simone Pavesi, Head of Unit Animal Free Fashion at LAV, said:

“LAV applauds Aeffe Group for its commitment to more sustainable fashion and which, as such, cannot contemplate the use of animal fur. Today, technology and industrial research offer the possibility of using the so-called Next-Gen Materials, materials with better environmental performance and which are animal-free. We are therefore pleased to have met a company that is truly interested and coherent in the evaluation of a responsible supply of raw materials and with which, as regards animal-free materials, we are certain that together we will reach new ethical and sustainable goals”

Joh Vinding, President of the Fur Free Alliance,  said:

“We’re thrilled that Aeffe Group has pledged to ban cruel fur. With its new fur-free commitment, Aeffe Group and its brands show they are serious about animal welfare and have listened to today’s ethically-minded consumers. Fur fashion simply is yesterday’s business.”

In conjunction with the signing of this agreement, the Aeffe Group also communicates its decision to stop purchasing angora from the Spring/Summer 2024 season.
